Activities

  • Rifle inventory check
  • Handling flags under plexiglass
  • Work on ArtPlus inventory software
  • Moving documents and objects

1. Monday November 3

1.1 Inventory check of rifles stored in safes:
Attaching labels, recording the location in ArtPlus and registering the ref. on the labels. Review and complete certain instructions. Work requiring precision and patience.

1.2 Removal of 5 flags from a wall of the Farm Museum with a bridge which had to be partially dismantled twice to pass under beams. Many of the objects on display on the ground floor had to be reworked. Excellent coordination within the team allowed the bridge and flags to be handled safely.

1.3 Loading boxes and documents at the Farm for the next day.

1.4 Sorting shooting distinctions by canton: a tedious but fun activity, allowing you to know the existence of municipalities in all corners of Switzerland.

2. Tuesday November 4

2.1 Transport of boxes and documents to the Hotel.

2.2 Showrooms at the Hotel: registration of refs. on cups, plates, paintings, stained glass etc. : 1st lacquer, ref, 2th lacquer.

2.3 Start of installation of 10 flags under plexiglass of different sizes and weights in the attic.

3. Wednesday November 5

3.1 Review and complete certain notices.

3.2 Continuation of the numbering of objects. Meticulous work where the different stages required a significant drying time: the excellent organization of team 1 made it possible to manage the tasks well without wasting time.

3.3 Continuation of the installation of flags. Team 2 successfully completed the demanding suspension with great skill and patience.

3.4 Creation of two themed exhibitions by an artist from team 2.

4. Assessment

4.1 The large volume of work was managed with vigilance, patience and good humor by a united team.

4.2 Adequate initiatives were taken as the work progressed. The work teams were formed spontaneously and alternately to allow variation in the work for each participant.

Archivist’s impression:

  • The teams from the two sections formed a homogeneous and efficient group. All participants showed great commitment and interest in the different tasks.
  • The archivist once again greatly appreciated the very pleasant collaboration which provided extraordinary support to the EAN museum. She warmly thanks the respective commanders and the entire team for the successful accomplishment of this mission.
