From Monday 23 to Friday 27 September 2019, the Regional Civil Protection Organization (ORPC) of Valavran was engaged on various projects spread across the municipalities of Bellevue, Céligny, Genthod, Le Grand-Saconnex and Versoix.
Bains du Saugy
In Genthod, four people cleaned the forest bordering the lake, on the Geneva side, between Lake Geneva and the Swiss road. Armed with brush cutters (loaned by the municipality) and other saws, they attacked mainly the Robinia acacias. This invasive plant prevents young shoots of yew – an otherwise protected species –, holly or ash from developing.

Around the school
In the center of the village of Genthod, a team repaired the pedestrian paths along Chemin des Chênes. Four collaborators were responsible for carving a bench with the image of a pig and its acorns.

Route de Valavran
The team spent the week rehabilitating the pedestrian path along the Valavran road, starting from the school towards the Collex road, for several hundred meters.

Dismantling of a play area
Located between Chemin de la Mairie and Route de Rennex, a small play area was completely dismantled and its ground as well as its pedestrian access dismantled and returned to its natural state using soil and wood chips.
