From Monday 6 to Wednesday 8 October 2025, six ORPC Valavran civil protection members continued the equipment training course begun in March. Under the supervision of Sergeants-Major Nelson Caetano and Josselin Schmitt, they visited facilities across the municipalities and checked all machinery with combustion engines. In March, the personnel had carried out an equipment inventory using the checklist (LCM).

These seemingly banal operations are essential to ensure that in the event of an urgent need, ORPC Valavran has efficient and usable equipment at all times.

At the same time, Lieutenants David Galley and Sébastien Vuille were trained to lead an equipment course, as they are expected to take responsibility for the area at the end of 2026.

civil protection personnel went to the lakeside in Versoix, near the Town Hall, in order to test and maintain the three water, thermal and electric pumps owned by ORPC Valavran. They were turned on for around ten minutes to ensure they were working properly.

They also started and maintained all the ORPC generators. The old Kirsch brand (orange), the new Kärcher with two wheels and the two Kärcher with four wheels. To do this, they turned on the generators and thus powered 1000 watt projectors.

civil protection personnel also checked the mechanical saws. They turned them on for a few minutes to test how they worked. Two of them were taken to the Chalut Green Service company for inspection. The compressor loaded on a transport cart was started and tested.

Finally, during this course, various small tidying, classification and cleaning tasks were carried out.
