The mission was received on 30.03.2020 for a start on 31.03.2020.
It consisted of:
- Sort patients upon arrival at the medical center
- Direct patients to one of the two waiting rooms. Either the room reserved for patients not affected by Covid, or the room reserved for patients coming for Covid.
- Constantly disinfect elevator buttons, door handles, waiting rooms.
Entry into service took place at 0800 in Colombières. Hours were from 0800 to 1630 non-stop, Monday to Friday. Meals were taken on site, delivered by the ORPC Valavran kitchen.
On site, an civil protection member was stationed inside the driveway of the building which leads to the CM, located in a rental building. On the first floor of the building, at the entrance to the medical center itself, another civil protection member sorted patients and directed them to the correct waiting room. The third took care of disinfection.
According to our estimates, there were around fifteen patients who came to the CM for Covid screening and around ten for non-Covid consultations, mainly gynecological.
Changes, but PCi remains useful
Following the reopening of medical offices on April 27, 2020, these figures increased to around ten and around sixty respectively for other consultations. This change has in no way reduced the usefulness of the mission.
Everything went well. A small problem reported: a tenant asked the management to close the CM due to a hypothetical health risk. He also threatened to contact the press. This had no impact on our mission, except that civil protection personnel were informed that they were not allowed to speak to the press or have their photo taken.
