The mission was received on 23.03.2020 for a start on 25.03.2020.

The mission consisted of:

  • Ensure deliveries of pharmaceutical products on behalf of 25 Amavita and Sunstore pharmacies
  • Patrol the territory of the canton of Geneva to quickly respond to requests for deliveries of pharmaceutical products
  • Be responsible for four delivery sectors (Right Bank, Geneva-Meyrin, City Center, Left Bank)

Entry into service at 0800 in Colombières and release around 1600. Sometimes 1700 or 1730. No deliveries initially planned for the weekend but a picket service was finally set up to ensure urgent deliveries. All the teams ate in town after being delivered by the ORPC kitchen.

The number of deliveries varied greatly from one day to the next. There were up to 120 in one day.

Direct contacts with pharmacies

In detail, the groups were in direct contact with pharmacies, where they went to pick up deliveries, which they then sent to customers' homes. The latter had previously ordered their medicines via the internet or telephone.

As the days went by, the teams developed their own delivery rounds, going from pharmacy to pharmacy to collect orders. If some of these were intended for another sector, the teams came together to exchange deliveries.

In total, up to 500 kilometres were driven each day.

Note that an additional mission specific to the Cygnes pharmacy was received after ORPC Geneva-city was placed under supervision. Two civil protection personnel delivered medicines ordered from this business on foot.
