The mission consisted of:

  • Ensure compliance with health standards (social distancing) in queues in front of thirteen supermarkets (7 Coop, 5 Migros and 1 Aligro).

During the week, entry into service took place at Colombières with a first team at 0700 and a second at 1330. On Saturday, a third team entered service at 0700. The team from 0700 ate at Colombières while that of 1330 received a snack, delivered by the ORPC Valavran. On Saturday, a hot meal was delivered on site, cooked by ORPC Valavran.

Weekdays and weekends

During the week, four teams patrolled in front of several supermarkets in order to limit the commitment of civil protection personnel during the week to half-days. In total, surveillance coverage on weekdays was from 0800 to 1900. On Saturday, the team on duty remained in front of their assigned supermarket from 0800 to 1800.

The workforce for this mission was reduced to 20 civil protection members from Saturday 25.04.2020 following the cessation of surveillance in front of Coop stores.

No difficulties to report. It was necessary to intervene sporadically with certain customers who were not respecting distances.

Note that this is a mission that was taken over from the ORPC Genève-City after this organization was placed under supervision by the canton of Geneva.
